“Weimar Triangle” Summer Camp 2022
In the 2022 summer holidays, from July 10 to 23, we set 48 teenagers from Germany, Poland and France the challenge of trekking from Drawno in Poland’s West Pomerania district to Templin in Germany’s Uckermark region
by foot, bike and canoe. Multinational teams of 16 youngsters aged 14 to 17 will work together to master the challenges big and small that confront them on their two-week journey through the “wilderness”.
This adventure will heighten the teens’ ecological awareness, their sense of responsibility, and their understanding of democracy. They will observe the differences and similarities between themselves and their team mates while learning more about themselves and their own abilities. They will be accompanied by experienced adventure educators. The language of the camp is English.
Our goal with the “Weimar Triangle” trip is to allow the teens to experience everyday pan-European life once again – especially after the disruptions of the coronavirus crisis – and to bolster awareness of what can be achieved when people work together.
After two successful German-Polish summer camps in 2018 and 2019 and the meetings that could not take place in 2020 and 2021 , we are planning another summer camp in the 2022 summer holidays – of course following the required hygiene measures.
2021 marked 30 years since the founding of the Weimar Triangle forum between Germany, Poland and France. To celebrate the anniversary, the 2022 Summer Camp will also be open to young people from France.
More information about the exact dates of the trip and how to apply for a place will follow.
