Foundation

The est initiative operates under the aegis of the charitable foundation Gebäudeensemble Joachimsthalsches Gymnasium Templin, which was established in 2016. It is based in Templin and has a project office in Berlin. In mid- 2016 the foundation was able to acquire the historical school buildings.

This purchase was motivated by the idea to work for European unity in Templin, at the heart of Europe, and particularly to include eastern European perspectives. We would like to create a European boardings school on this historical school site, the est, in which Europe and peace will be the guiding themes in all activities. Here students and teachers from all over Europe will live and learn together. And of course, a new school must meet the most innovative standards in education. We want to make this vision reality.
