This is school in the 21st century

On the grounds of the former Joachimsthalsches Gymnasium in Templin, we plan to bring together young people from all across Europe thereby making an active contribution to European civil society. The est is founded on a commitment to European culture and a contribution to peace in Europe.

The new establishment will create a school with strong international recognition. It will be a beacon in the educational landscape of eastern Germany, an incubator for innovative solutions to challenges of the 21st century. Creativity, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, sustainability and digitalisation will be taught and lived here.

Conceived as a democratic school, est will become nothing less than a Europe in miniature. We want to make this special school experience possible for students from all parts of society. Scholarships for at least half of the student body and an income-based school fee system will help to break down social and economic barriers and ensure diversity.

The school offers the opportunity to build a bridge between Western and Eastern Europe. To do so, we are focusing our attention on Central and Eastern Europe.
